Self-assessment system adopted by the Tax Law is to allow the taxpayer to calculate and determine the amount of the Income Tax payable and report it to the local Tax Office after the end of the tax year, however at any time the government (via the Director General of Taxes) is authorized to conduct an evaluation to verify the correctness of self-calculation done by the taxpayer (official assessment).
